The new Veterans Affairs (VA) Clinic in Garner, North Carolina has partnered with Blue Gas Express to implement a temporary natural gas virtual pipeline while, while portions of the clinic complete construction. This collaboration was initiated to bridge the gap while the clinic awaits the installation of a permanent gas line, ensuring uninterrupted energy supply for its critical operations.
To ensure the construction timeline remains on track, Blue Gas Express (BGE), a leader in virtual pipeline technology, was called upon to provide a temporary solution. The company quickly deployed its mobile gas units, which involves delivering compressed natural gas (CNG) via specialized trailers which are connected directly to the gas lines of the various buildings onsite. The BGE is setup allows the construction team to access a consistent supply of natural gas, similar to what would be provided by a permanent pipeline, ensuring that the portions of building that are ready for heat and hot water have it on-demand while enabling heat to be provided to the areas of the building still under construction to drive out humidity and speed up completion.
Helping our veterans is an important priority for BGE and the state of North Carolina, home to over 600,000 veterans. The construction of this new VA Clinic is a vital step in ensuring these veterans receive the care and support they deserve. As Anthony Avery, the Wake County OPC Administrator for the Durham VA Healthcare System, explained, “This facility here is over 240,000 square feet. It will have various clinics here, mainly about 23 different types of services. In our area, we already have smaller clinics, and their capacities are pretty full.”
Blue Gas Express is not just providing a service; they are deeply invested in the success of this project. The company has expressed its excitement about the clinic’s upcoming completion and the positive impact it will have on the veteran community in North Carolina. “Any day we are able to improve and speed up greater access to care for those who protect our country, is a day we cherish. We are happy that our technology  continues to provide these types of benefits to the community and we are fortunate that Dominion Energy partnered with us to solve the temporary natural gas needs of this very large building and other communities throughout North Carolina, South Carolina and other states.” said Miguel Guerreiro, Blue Gas Express’ CEO.
